<p>The 2D DFX Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the compositing delivery of a sequence or show. This includes leading the comp team, reviewing technical and creative output, and ensuring shots meet delivery standards while maintaining continuity and integration across departments.</p><p></p><p></p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p><strong>Duties:</strong></p><ul> <li>Shot Supervision: Oversee compositing across shots and sequences, ensuring technical and creative alignment. Ensure comp shots are delivered clean, complete, and client-ready.</li> <li>Lookdev: Establish and maintain comp lookdev templates or reference setups.</li> <li>Tech Checks: Perform in-depth reviews of plates, mattes, and final renders before comp ingest and delivery.</li> <li>Cross-Department Liaison: Work with lighting, FX, DMP, and roto/prep to ensure integration.</li> <li>Problem Solving: Identify and resolve workflow, render, or integration issues.</li> <li>Mentorship: Guide compositing leads, seniors, and mid-level artists with reviews and support. Lead 2D delivery across the project while maintaining visual and technical consistency.Foster a supportive, productive, and communicative team culture.&nbsp;</li> <li>Delivery Oversight: Ensure all shots are finaled, QC’d, and ready for internal or client delivery.</li> <li>Communication: Act as the creative and technical bridge between comp and downstream departments. Keep the team updated on progress and flag blockers early.</li> <li>Feedback: Review shots from the team and provide clear, actionable notes. Be open to feedback and work iteratively to reach final quality.</li> </ul><p></p><p><strong>Skills, attributes and experience:</strong></p><ul> <li>Expert-level Nuke knowledge and comp supervision experience.</li> <li>Strong eye for photorealism, integration, and image balance.</li> <li>Confident in guiding teams, presenting work, and resolving blockers.</li> <li>Thorough understanding of 2D workflows, tech checks, and shot structure.</li> <li>Experience leading compositing on multiple high-end shows.</li> <li>Familiarity with ShotGrid or similar tracking tools.</li> <li>Background in colour pipelines, CG compositing, and delivery workflows.</li> <li>Excellent communicator, sharing information clearly and actively listening.</li> <li>Strong time management, ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and escalate delays in a timely manner.</li> <li>Adaptable to change with the ability to stay focused and maintain a positive attitude.</li> <li>Driven to make things better with flexibility to change course when needed.</li> <li>Positive energy, focusing on results and having a positive impact on those around you.</li> <li>Self awareness and an ability to resolve and diffuse problems treating others with kindness and respect.</li> <li>Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work well with others.</li> <li>10+ years in VFX or a related field.</li> </ul>
