API & AI Senior Software Engineer (m/f/d) - Remote

You'll drive technical excellence and the innovative use of AI and automation to reach our goal to become Europe leading ERP &amp; Agentic Commerce AI platform. With your expertise in software development, prompt engineering and process automation, you'll ensure the optimal execution and scalability of our company strategies.</span></p>\n<p></p><p><br></p><b>Your Tasks</b><ul><li><b>API development:</b> You design, develop and maintain our core RESTful APIs using AI-powered development tools</li><li><b>AI driven development:</b> You drive strategic initiatives in AI adoption across our teams, mentor our engineers and identify areas where we can improve using AI tools</li><li><b>Agentic Commerce:</b> You drive initiatives to move Xantral ERP into an Agentic Commerce platform by building APIs that agents can use, implement MCP services and create integrations to platforms and frameworks</li><li><b>Operational Support: </b>You act as the technical go-to person for the API &amp; AI team, you collaborate closely with our PMs, you ensuring our tech stack is utilized effectively and our codebase is kept maintainable and scalable to achieve our goals</li></ul><p><br></p><b>Your Profile</b><ul><li>You bring 5+ years of experience as a backend engineer on large-scale applications or platforms, with a strong architectural mindset and the ability to guide technical best practices.</li><li>You have deep knowledge of REST API design, authentication, security, JSON, OpenAPI, and common API standards.</li><li>You are experienced with PHP and modern frameworks like Laravel (or similar languages), and ideally bring knowledge of Go as a plus.</li><li>You are skilled at working with and modernizing legacy codebases while ensuring high standards for code quality, reliability, and maintainability.</li><li>You thrive as a strong communicator and collaborator, work independently, take ownership, and proactively drive solutions forward (fluent English required; German is a plus).</li></ul><p><br></p><p></p>\n<p><b style="font-size: 18px"><u>We offer</u></b></p><p><br></p><p><b style="font-size: 11pt">Flexible Work Environment:</b><span style="font-size: 11pt"> Enjoy remote work options across Europe or from our office-hubs in Augsburg, Amsterdam, Berlin, Munich, and Lohne (Oldenburg), along with flexible working hours.</span></p><p><br></p><p><b style="font-size: 11pt">Competitive Compensation &amp; Comprehensive Benefits: </b><span style="font-size: 11pt">Attractive salary packages and a generous leave policy that includes 28 annual leave days, special leave days, and nursing care days.
