This role is available as either full-time or part-time and offers the convenience of remote work, allowing for a flexible work-life balance.<br><br><strong>Key Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Accurately verify and document insurance benefits for medical foods and durable medical equipment (DME) products.</li><li>Provide prompt and professional customer support via phone and email, addressing inquiries or directing them as necessary.</li><li>Process prior authorizations and facilitate approvals to ensure timely delivery of essential products.</li><li>Conduct annual insurance coverage verification to maintain uninterrupted patient care.</li><li>Resolve insurance denials effectively by liaising with both insurance providers and patients.</li><li>Collaborate with patients to gather updated insurance information, addressing any coverage gaps.</li><li>Process wholesale orders and monitor new patient referrals, ensuring accurate documentation and timely follow-up.</li><li>Communicate issues related to insurance verification and patient concerns to the Billing Manager and relevant team members.</li><li>Assist in claims submission by ensuring compliance with verification and authorization processes.</li><li>Uphold confidentiality standards and adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient information.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Required Skills<br><br></strong><ul><li>Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical billing, insurance verification, and claims submission; prior experience in the DME or enteral nutrition sector is advantageous but not mandatory.</li><li>Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy across all tasks.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with patients and insurance representatives.</li><li>Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).</li><li>Customer-centric approach with the ability to address inquiries and concerns with empathy and professionalism.</li><li>Understanding of HIPAA regulations and a strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality in patient interactions.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>High School Diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate's degree is preferred.
