Associate National Director, Leadership Giving

Share your support and help educate and empower individuals facing type 1 diabetes.</p><p></p><p>Our mission is to improve lives today and tomorrow by accelerating life changing breakthroughs to treat, prevent and ultimately, cure T1D and its complications. <b>Always, we are guided by a single purpose: As we drive towards curing type 1 diabetes, we help make everyday life better for the people who face it</b>.</p><p></p><p>This is a remote position open to candidates in Boston area.</p><p></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities:</b></p><p><b>Fundraising (80%)</b></p><ul><li>Master the organization’s case for support and effectively communicate funding priorities to prospective donors.</li><li>Manage a portfolio of 125–150 current and prospective major gift donors across assigned markets; develop and implement tailored cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.</li><li>Partner closely with Field Leadership and national partners to build pipeline, support donor strategy, and align efforts with territory needs and organizational priorities.</li><li>Cultivate and steward relationships with individual donors, board members, foundations, and volunteers.</li><li>Lead the strategic development, packaging, and solicitation of major gifts ranging from $100,000 to $1 million</li><li>Achieve individual and regional fundraising goals aligned with organizational benchmarks.</li><li>Ensure exemplary stewardship for all donors in the assigned portfolio.</li><li>Support the national strategy and execution of individual solicitations.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Cultural Leadership (10%)</b></p><ul><li>Serve as a lead on initiatives or projects that strengthen the Leadership Giving (LG) department and promote a culture of philanthropy across Breakthrough T1D.</li><li>Collaborate with division LG team members, the Mission Department, and Field leadership to support revenue and donor engagement goals.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Administration &amp; Management (10%)</b></p><ul><li>Maintain accurate and timely activity tracking through Salesforce CRM.</li><li>Assist in creating and managing the Leadership Giving budget for assigned territories.</li><li>Facilitate territory-level Leadership Giving meetings with internal stakeholders as needed.</li><li>Support additional responsibilities and organizational priorities as assigned.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li>7 years of professional fundraising experience in a complex, mission-driven organization.</li><li>Demonstrated success securing major gifts of $100,000 or more.</li><li>Strong ability to convey complex scientific or medical information clearly and persuasively.</li><li>Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship management skills.</li><li>Collaborative team player with experience working in cross-functional and volunteer-driven environments.</li><li>Skilled in donor strategy, prospect research, and moves management.</li><li>Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently in a remote setting.</li><li>Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>High emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and discretion when handling confidential information.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Salesforce (or comparable CRM).</li><li>Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% of the time, including overnight and occasional weekend travel.</li><li>College degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.</li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><b>Essential Functions:</b></p><p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. &nbsp;Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p><p></p><p>While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. &nbsp;The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. &nbsp;The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.</p><p></p><p>The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and infrequently up to 50 pounds. &nbsp;Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.</p><p></p><p>The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.</p><p></p><p><b>Additional information:</b></p><p>Requests for medical, religious, and other exemptions will be considered on an individual basis.
