ALTEN Mexico is a subsidiary of the ALTEN Group, a global leader in engineering and technology consulting.</p><p>We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Chassis Design &amp; Release Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Chassis Design &amp; Release Engineer, you will be responsible for the engineering, design, development, timing and production release of chassis components. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate design and development of chassis systems, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the design and release processes.</p><p>If you have a passion for automotive engineering and possess strong analytical skills, this is an excellent opportunity to join our team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge chassis systems.</p><p></p><p><strong>Activities: </strong></p><p><strong>Component Review and Validation:</strong></p><ul> <li> Review and validate Exterior Trim Aero/Cladding systems, including wheel arch claddings, side skirts, roof spoilers, aero deflectors, spats, air dams, wheel flares, and wheel liners. </li> <li> Ensure the aesthetic and functional integration of the components with the vehicle design. </li> </ul><p><strong>Management of Validations and Technical Requirements:</strong></p><ul> <li> Coordinate and oversee material and component validation tests. </li> <li> Ensure compliance with aerodynamic requirements and air flow management. </li> <li> Evaluate and mitigate risks using tools such as DFMEA, DVP&amp;R, and validations. </li> <li> Provide feedback on design feasibility based on concepts from the Product Design Office (PDO), sketches, and clay models. </li> </ul><p><strong>Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams and Suppliers:</strong></p><ul> <li> Coordinate packaging with the Product Design Office, Vehicle Development, Exterior &amp; Body Engineering, and other adjacent teams (electromechanical, electrical, lighting, trim). </li> <li> Work with internal teams and suppliers to ensure the manufacturability of the components. </li> <li> Ensure that the design aligns with manufacturing and quality standards. </li> </ul><p><strong>Use of Review Tools and Data Management:</strong></p><ul> <li> Review and modify information in NX (modeling, surfacing, packaging, and integration). </li> <li> Manage information in Teamcenter and update engineering documentation. </li> <li> Coordinate the release of completed geometry in NX Teamcenter CAD tools. </li> </ul><p><strong>Component Launch and Release:</strong></p><ul> <li> Coordinate the release of components into production, ensuring compliance with manufacturing processes. </li> <li> Manage engineering changes and update the BoM (Bill of Materials). </li> </ul><p><strong>Process Optimization and Cost Reduction:</strong></p><ul> <li> Implement improvements in materials, manufacturing processes, and production costs. </li> <li> Conduct benchmarking studies to identify optimization opportunities. </li> <li> Participate in initiatives for weight reduction, cost savings, and manufacturing efficiency. </li> </ul><p><strong>Production Support and Quality Monitoring:</strong></p><ul> <li> Resolve technical issues on the production floor during the launch and series production. </li> <li> Ensure the quality of components and propose improvements based on defect analysis. </li> </ul><p><strong>Monitoring and Reporting:</strong></p><ul> <li> Present technical progress and validation reports to engineering management. </li> <li> Coordinate technical meetings with suppliers and internal teams. </li> <li> Communicate the technical status of the product to management.</li> </ul><p></p><p></p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p>Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or equivalent</p><p>2-3 yrs of engineering experiencedesigning and developing on the following: <strong>Chassis components, Chassis structural parts, Steering systems, Suspension systems or overall Chassis (components or systems). </strong></p><p>'• Experience designing and developing on the following: --&gt; <strong>Chassis components, Chassis structural parts, Steering systems, Suspension systems or overall Chassis (components or systems).</strong> </p><p>• CAD experience with<strong> Unigraphics NX, Catia V5 and Teamcenter</strong> in vehicle packaging and design of components. </p><p>• Previous experience with the design, validation and manufacturing of stamped steel components, welded assemblies, and castings is desired.</p><p>• Knowledgeable regarding high strength steels/ aluminum forming processes, weld parameters and <strong>GD&amp;T</strong></p><p>• Knowledge and experience with composites and composite production processes</p><p>• <strong>Experience with OEM or supplier on design and release</strong></p><p>• Experience/knowledge with <strong>Design Failure Mode &amp; Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Design Verification Plan &amp; Report (DVP&amp;R) and validation plans</strong></p><p>•<strong> BoM’s </strong>creation and edition</p><p>• Previous experience and knowledge of physical system testing of structural components.</p><p>• Experience with component and system design, development and validation including system level bench testing and vehicle level testing for steering systems </p><p>• Technical understanding of virtual design of structural components - <strong>CAE</strong> for Fatigue and strength modelling.</p><p>• Knowledge of Design for <strong>Six Sigma (DFSS) and/or Reactive Green/Black Belt </strong></p><p>• BIW in-plant launch experience is a plus</p><p>• <strong>CAE/Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)</strong> knowledge</p><p>• Knowledge or experience of <strong>CAN/LIN bus and circuit analysi</strong>s</p><p>• Excellent MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)</p><p><strong>• CATIA V5 </strong>knowledge is a plus</p><p>•<strong> Knowledge of Casting and Injection Molding processes is a plus</strong></p><p>• Possibility of traveling, valid passport, and visa preferable</p><p>Intermediate - Advanced English</p><p></p><p>If you are ambitious, detail-oriented, and eager to work in a challenging and rewarding environment, we would love to hear from you.
