The BIC is responsible for supporting and coordinating patients' mental health care provided by the LifeStance IBH team of psychiatrists and therapists in consultation with a team of referring primary care physicians, and other mental health providers as appropriate. The BIC is also responsible for coordinating referrals to clinically indicated services as directed by the IBH team</p><p></p><p><b>RESPONSIBILITIES</b></p><ul><li>Support and closely coordinate mental health care with the patient’s care team, including the therapist, psychiatric consultant, primary care provider, and other treating mental health providers as indicated.</li><li>Communicate with clients by telephone regarding scheduling, referrals, insurance coverage, and document/communicate any changes and updates to IBH team through patient registry.</li><li>Facilitate LifeStance or other referrals as directed by the clinical team.</li><li>Perform patient benefit verification by coordinating with patient insurance plan representatives via phone and/or payor benefit portals.</li><li>Coordinate patient prior authorizations for specialty behavioral health services.</li><li>Participate in regularly scheduled caseload consultation with the IBH team psychiatrist and communicate any updates regarding the patients.</li><li>Facilitate patient engagement, communication, and follow-up in mental health care.</li><li>Match patients to clinicians based on need and utilize booking system to schedule necessary visits with LifeStance providers.<br> </li></ul><p><b>SKILLS & EXPERIENCE</b></p><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li><li>Experience working with patients who have co-occurring mental health, and physical health problems.</li><li>Experience working with an EHR (Electronic Health Record); prior experience working with AdvancedMD would be advantageous.</li><li>Experience with screening and assessment for common mental / substance use disorders.</li><li>Basic knowledge of common mental disorders.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.</li><li>Ability to maintain effective and professional relationships with clients and other members of the care team.</li><li>Effective communication skills.</li><li>Comfort with a fast-paced work environment.</li><li>Ability to effectively engage clients in a therapeutic relationship.</li><li>Ability to work with clients by telephone.</li><li>Strong organizational skills and work ethic.</li><li>Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States.</li><li>LifeStance is an EEO/Affirmative Action Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, national origin, protected veteran status, disability or any other legally protected status.</li><li>Demonstrates awareness, inclusivity, sensitivity, humility, and experience in working with individuals from diverse ethnic backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses, sexual orientations, gender identities, and other various aspects of culture.</li><li>Remote work requires a wired Ethernet connection.
