Development Counsellors International (DCI) is seeking a seasoned publicist with a strong track record in media relations for a freelance, independent contractor role. The ideal candidate will secure media coverage across top print, digital, and broadcast media, with a focus on travel, culinary, cultural, history, and sustainability themes. Note: This role is media relations-focused; client management is not required.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Develop and maintain travel media contacts across print, digital, broadcast and podcasts outlets/media</li><li>Develop compelling story angles.</li><li>Proactive pitch media to secure feature stories/segments in print and broadcast outlets.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>Access to your own media database.</li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism.</li><li>Have mastered professional/business tone pitch writing</li><li>At least 8 years of PR (media relations or journalism) experience, with a track record in landing media placements</li><li>Freelance applicants interested in freelance/contract roles must be incorporated or hold an EIN and be based in the U.S.</li></ul>
