The Role

A key component of the iOS Client Foundations team is developing foundational architecture and frameworks that support the Netflix iOS app. Our primary goals are to accelerate developer velocity, enhance app quality, and improve performance metrics while paving the way for scalable architectures and innovative solutions across various teams within Netflix.

Job Description

This position requires an engineer to lead the development of iOS core libraries, framework, and infrastructure strategy. The selected candidate will be responsible for driving architectural decisions related to logging and UI infrastructure to meet current and future product requirements. Key responsibilities include creating scalable, modular, extensible, and highly performant custom UI components used by engineers across multiple teams, setting the vision and strategy for a robust and scalable logging framework in collaboration with data science teams, and enabling complex product experiences with exceptional quality on a regular cadence.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have experience building frameworks and libraries using technologies like UIKit, Core Animation, Objective-C, and Swift, along with strong technical leadership skills to drive impactful architectural decisions. Additionally, they must be able to refine or define hypotheses with stakeholders in a data-driven approach, detect and improve code health in a high-commit culture, find solutions to prevent regressions, and improve test stability, coverage, and performance.
