We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Counselor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting students' emotional, social, and academic development. This position involves working closely with students, parents, and staff to create a positive school environment that fosters learning and personal growth. The School Counselor will be responsible for developing care plans tailored to individual student needs and providing guidance on various issues affecting students' well-being.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counselling sessions to students, addressing their emotional and behavioural challenges.
- Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support student success.
- Conduct assessments to identify students' needs and recommend appropriate interventions.
- Facilitate workshops and programmes on topics such as stress management, conflict resolution, and study skills.
- Maintain accurate records of counselling sessions and student progress while ensuring confidentiality.
- Collaborate with school staff to promote a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their children's progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Stay informed about relevant IT tools that can enhance counselling services and student engagement.
Requirements
- A recognised qualification in Counselling or Psychology is essential.
- Previous experience in a school setting or working with children is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to develop care plans that cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Proficiency in using IT systems for record keeping and communication purposes.
- A compassionate approach with the ability to build rapport with students from various backgrounds.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation regarding child protection and safeguarding practices is beneficial.
