<h2><strong>About this role</strong></h2>
<p>As an Account Executive, you’ll play a key role in Ably’s commercial growth. You’ll be responsible for building revenue by driving sales activities, owning the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals. You will be an important voice in defining the wider go-to-market strategy as it continuously evolves. If you’re excited by outbound sales, comfortable with cold outreach, and motivated by building pipeline from scratch, we’d love to hear from you.</p>
<p>Your ability to connect and engage with technical audiences (developers, architects and engineering leaders) and articulate business value to decision-makers will be critical to your success. Previous experience with developer-led sales is strongly preferred.</p>
<h2><strong>Day to day you will</strong></h2>
<ul>
<li><strong>Drive activity across the full sales cycle. </strong>You’ll prospect, identity, qualify and develop sales pipeline, and negotiate and close deals.</li>
<li><strong>Own outbound efforts.</strong> You’ll lead with outreach: cold calling, emailing, and using creative tactics to start conversations and build your pipeline.</li>
<li><strong>Sell to developers and technical teams.</strong> You’ll build strong relationships with our ICP, understanding their needs and challenges and articulating Ably’s value proposition effectively.</li>
<li><strong>Build go-to-market strategies.</strong> You’ll develop and execute go-to-market plans using a land and expand approach.</li>
<li><strong>Develop deep product expertise.</strong> You’ll maintain product knowledge to confidently navigate technical discussions with developers and engineering leaders, in conjunction with the SE team.</li>
</ul>
<h2><strong>It's important that you have</strong></h2>
<ul>
<li>3+ years experience in a high-growth environment, ideally within developer tooling, open source or PaaS/IaaS. We’re open to applications from strong SDRs looking to step up into an AE role, as well as more experienced AEs.</li>
<li>Comfort and confidence in outbound sales and cold calling, with a bias toward proactive pipeline generation.</li>
<li>A track record of success in selling complex technical solutions to enterprise customers.</li>
<li>A consultative, customer-first approach to sales, with an emphasis on solving customer problems rather than just closing deals.</li>
<li>Experience working in a smaller early-stage company, where creativity, initiative and a hands-on approach are essential.</li>
</ul>
