ALTEN Mexico is a subsidiary of the ALTEN Group, a global leader in engineering and technology consulting.</p><p>The Body D&R Engineer will be responsible for the engineering, design, development, timing and production release for some of the following functions: Body-in-white / Body closure sheet metal and hinging / Fascia/bumper / Underbody shield and Wheel liners / Cladding & flares / Body exterior (moldings, badges, decals and vents) / Front Lighting / EE & Signal Lighting / Fixed Glass/ Wipers /Fuel Door components /systems from initial design concept through full volume production.</p><p></p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul> <li>Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or equivalent</li> <li>3-5 yrs of engineering automotive component experience designing and developing on the following: BIW Components (Componentes de Body in White).</li> </ul><h3><strong>Main Structural Components:</strong></h3><ul> <li> <strong>Floor panel</strong> </li> <li> <strong>Side panels</strong> </li> <li> <strong>Roof panel</strong> </li> <li> <strong>A, B, and C pillars</strong> </li> <li> <strong>Front and rear subframes</strong> </li> <li> <strong>Frame / Rail system</strong> </li> </ul><h3><strong>Movable Parts (Before Final Assembly):</strong></h3><ul> <li> <strong>Doors</strong> </li> <li> <strong>Hood</strong> </li> <li> <strong>Trunk lid / Tailgate</strong> </li> </ul><h3><strong>Joints and Supports:</strong></h3><ul> <li> <strong>Suspension mounts</strong> </li> <li> <strong>Structural reinforcements</strong> </li> <li> <strong>Crash energy absorption parts</strong> </li> <li> <strong>Crossmembers</strong> </li> </ul><ul> <li>Experience designing and developing on the following: --->BIW</li> <li>CAD experience with Unigraphics NX, Catia V5 and Teamcenter in a production release environment Body in White.</li> <li>Knowledgeable regarding high strength steels/ aluminum forming processes, weld parameters and GD&T</li> <li>Experience with OEM or supplier on design and release</li> <li>Experience/knowledge with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) and validation plans</li> <li>BoM’s creation and edition</li> <li>Knowledge and experience with composites and composite production processes</li> <li>Release experience in both Mechanical and electrical components </li> <li>Working knowledge of designing for EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) and ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) design/prevention</li> <li>Prior exposure to automotive lighting specifications and standards an asset; electronics specifications</li> <li>Experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and/or Reactive Green/Black Belt</li> <li>BIW in-plant launch experience</li> <li>Experience designing and developing injection molding, painting, and decorating plastic Class A components</li> <li>CAE/Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) knowledge</li> <li>Experience leading technical teams successfully across varied levels of management and between OEM and supply base</li> <li>Experience regularly presenting to upper management for issue resolution decisions</li> <li>Knowledge or experience of CAN/LIN bus and circuit analysis</li> <li>Excellent MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)</li> <li>CATIA V5 knowledge is a plus</li> <li>Knowledge of Casting and Injection Molding processes is a plus</li> </ul><p>If you are ambitious, detail-oriented, and passionate about body design engineering, we would love to hear from you.
