<p>Devoted Studios &nbsp;is a production management company for external development in video games. With a mission to create equal opportunity for all talent globally to work on the games of their dreams, Devoted Studios aims to decentralize game development.</p><p>We are looking for a highly creative and experienced <strong>3D Art Director</strong> to join Devoted Studios in leading the visual direction of external game development projects. In this role, you will oversee the artistic vision across a variety of titles, working closely with clients, internal producers, and external partner teams. You will be responsible for maintaining high-quality 3D visual standards, ensuring alignment with project goals, and providing creative leadership throughout the production pipeline. The ideal candidate has a strong background in 3D art for games, a deep understanding of external development processes, and exceptional communication and feedback skills.</p><h3>Major Responsibilities:</h3><ul> <li><strong>Managing the Art Team</strong></li> <ul> <li>Review other projects for quality and technical consistency, providing feedback</li> <li>Vet and manage vendors</li> <li>Communicate directly with art teams, clients, and partners</li> </ul> <li><strong>Feedback and Guidelines</strong></li> <ul> <li>Provide video and delivery template feedback for art teams</li> <li>Create guidelines and technical requirements, pitch guidelines/presentations for clients</li> </ul> <li><strong>Production Workflow</strong></li> <ul> <li>Resolve workflow problems for production projects</li> <li>Identify work process improvements</li> <li>Communicate in advance to the Producer in case Change Requests are needed or if out of initial estimates, providing reasoning.</li> </ul> <li><strong>Team Leadership</strong></li> <ul> <li>Inspire, motivate, and mentor other artists in best practices, processes, and procedures related to production</li> <li>Ensure all assets created by the art team and outsource studios conform to style and technical guidelines</li> <li>Work together with the team of Art Directors, Lead Artist, 3D Modeler</li> </ul> <li><strong>Project Management</strong></li> <ul> <li>Estimate pre-production requests</li> <li>Evaluate art content and perform final polishing if required</li> <li>Maintain accurate documentation of production methodologies and techniques</li> <li>Help develop best practices for art creation</li> </ul> <li><strong>Onboarding and Training</strong></li> <ul> <li>Participate in the onboarding process and project setup</li> <li>Train, assign, schedule, and coach the internal team</li> </ul> <li><strong>Time Management</strong></li> <ul><li>Ensure timely time tracking</li></ul> <li><strong>Collaboration</strong></li> <ul> <li>Work with US-based Art Directors to ensure high-quality production, on-time delivery, and budget adherence.</li> <li>Partner with team members (Art Director, Lead Artist, 3D Modeler) on various projects.</li> <li>Coordinate with internal teams to enhance project quality.</li> </ul> </ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><h3><strong>Requirements:</strong></h3><ul> <li> <strong>Leadership &amp; Team Management</strong> </li> <ul> <li> 4–6 years of leadership experience in the video game industry, including as a Lead Artist or 3D Character Artist </li> <li> Proven experience managing, mentoring, and reviewing performance for remote and cross-functional art teams </li> <li> Ability to foster a positive, productive, and collaborative team environment </li> <li> Experience working with external vendors and service providers while maintaining high artistic standards </li> </ul> <li> <strong>Artistic &amp; Technical Expertise</strong> </li> <ul> <li> Strong background in 3D art with a deep understanding of artistic pipelines, styles, and quality benchmarks </li> <li> Proficient with industry-standard tools: Unreal Engine or Unity, Photoshop, Maya, Blender, Substance Suite, Marmoset </li> <li> Familiarity with project management tools like Jira and documentation tools like Confluence </li> <li> Experience in developing and maintaining production guidelines, pipelines, and technical documentation </li> </ul> <li> <strong>Production &amp;
